Refurbishment of the nursing stations of LKH Weststeiermark
Between Dynamism & Calm
ATP wins 3rd prize with a concept that focuses on well-thought-out functionality and the comfort of all the users of the nursing station. This creates the conditions for efficient working processes, while the room design offers a healing environment for patients.
ATP architects engineers can report a further success in the health sector with its 3rd prize for the refurbishment of the nursing stations at the Deutschlandsberg facility of LKH Weststeiermark. ATP primarily convinced the jury with its design and organization of the patient rooms, which offer unconventional solutions for the individual areas.
By focusing on functionality and comfort, ATP’s concept creates synergies that have a positive impact on the experiential quality of the nursing stations for the patients, nursing staff, and visitors alike. In this context, we should particularly highlight the suggestion – that was also praised by the jury – of rounding off the corners of the sanitary areas as a means of making it easier to transport beds.
Spatial design as “healing” surroundings
In order to create a sense of safety and comfort in the patient rooms, the design envisages the use of wood and light green tones in the interior. Specially developed wall cladding at the heads of the beds contributes to the optimization of the daily staff processes and the finishes of the individual patient areas.
