Our aspiration. Our approach.
Integrated design is the perfect partnership between all project participants with one objective: a better building.
Architects and engineers working together without interfaces, active knowledge management, and a passion for challenging projects have established ATP architects engineers as Europe’s leading integrated design office.
The ATP Group’s 1.500+ employees are based in 14 offices across Europe. Our work focuses on the areas of research, industry, administration, retail, teaching, mobility, hospitality, and health. Integrated design offices are located throughout the D-A-CH Region (Vienna, Innsbruck, Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin, Nuremberg, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Aachen, Zurich) and in CEE/SEE (Zagreb, Budapest, Belgrade, Krakow).
Our interdisciplinary project teams are supported by our in-house research and specialist design companies in the fields of design, interior design, landscape architecture, sustainability, and building services and by our consultancy companies in the areas of IT, real estate, and the health sector.
The Power of the Collective.
“Together rather than one by one” is the slogan that underpins our culture of cooperation. We have been developing and jointly applying the soft skills that are vital for the interdisciplinary cooperation between architects and engineers for over 50 years.
Expertise, consensus, cooperation. We love to communicate – within the group and with those around us. We listen to and we learn from each other.
Matthias Koch
Architect, Managing Director in Frankfurt
The Value of Quality.
We set ourselves the highest standards. And when it comes to quality we leave nothing to chance. Not only individual services such as architecture and structural or building services engineering, but also our overall integrated design methodology is quality assured in line with ISO 9001. This is the security that we offer to our clients.
The ATP Green Deal and digital and AI tools help us to improve our quality even further. Since 2012, we have planned projects with the help of Building Information Modeling (BIM), which is ideal for the integrated design of lifecycle-oriented buildings that are perfectly aligned with our clients’ ESG objectives.
Consistently high quality is no coincidence. Two-thirds of our projects are designed for clients with whom we have worked before.

Milestones
-
The young architectural office with a focus in the field of industrial building develops rapidly and in line with Achammer’s ability to create conceptually holistic solutions. He plans numerous production and logistics buildings in the German-speaking areas of Europe for such sectors as the food and automobile industries.
-
His ambitious target is to promote the integrated cooperation between architects and engineers in a way that is, to date, largely unknown in Europe.
The subsequent success shows how right he was: Thanks to this interdisciplinary structure, the office is able to perfect its design approach and broaden its expertise. The establishment of a second office in Vienna ensures that ATF is already Austria’s largest architecture company. The return of Christoph M. Achammer from the USA leads to a change of generation and the intensification of the development of the office. -
He and Sigfrid Tritthart develop a “corporate structure” in line with the Anglo-American model, in which all design disciplines – architecture, structural and building services engineering, and site supervision form an integrated whole. The office specializes in complex building projects in the areas of production, logistics, and research and now, additionally, in the office, mixed-use, retail, and hospitality sectors.
-
This is followed by temporary offices in Leipzig, Dresden, and Prague.
-
Partners, Associate Partners, and Associates represent ATP’s corporate culture to the outside world and participate in the success of the company.
-
ATP Holding – Upon the establishment of “ATP Planungs- und Beteiligungs AG,” ATP already has 250 employees.
-
Today, the office in Zagreb employs 80 people and is one of few specialists in the region to offer comprehensive training to students in the area of Building Information Modeling.
-
European Forum Alpbach – Christoph M. Achammer conceives the “Alpbach Architecture Forum,” of which ATP is Organizing Partner between 2001 and 2005.
-
Robert Kelca, Managing Director/Architecture in Vienna and, later, in Innsbruck, becomes a partner
-
He succeeds Professor Degenhard Sommer to the Chair of Industrial Building and Integrated Construction Planning, which he holds for over 20 years.
-
Founding of redserve – The ATP subsidiary offers real estate development consulting. It is now active across Austria, Southern Germany, and CEE.
-
Following a merger in 2009, the office is known as ATP architects engineers, Frankfurt.
-
Horst Reiner, Managing Director/Architecture in Vienna, becomes a partner (until 2024)
-
The subsequent years see the creation of ATP sphere (now integrated into the Design&Research studios) and ATP sustain, a specialist design and consulting company for sustainable design and construction and building certification, which is based in Vienna and Munich and is now active across Europe
-
Gerald Hulka, Managing Director/Engineering in Innsbruck (until 2024), becomes a partner.
-
Since 2017, it has been known as “ATP architects engineers, Zürich AG”.
-
Dario Travaš, Managing Director of ATP Zagreb and Head of Design in Vienna, becomes a partner
-
Consulting – foodfab advises and supports food industry companies in the implementation of their strategies in bespoke, forward-looking buildings.
-
The use and further development of the method enables ATP to exploit all the advantages of BIM to support sustainable quality in the integrated design process.
-
This makes ATP not only the first architecture and engineering office worldwide that is able to offer ISO-certified individual services such as architecture or structural or building services engineering but also the first whose overall integrated design processes have quality certification.
-
Health sector – The specialist design office ATP health offers expertise in the design of medical facilities, pharmacies, laboratories, research institutions, and industrial kitchens.
-
Matthias Wehrle, Managing Director/Architecture in Zurich, becomes a partner
-
Office in Berlin – Presence in the federal capital alongside the existing offices in Munich and Frankfurt

Thanks to the combination of the consulting services offered by our Swiss colleagues and ATP’s many years of experience of digital integrated design (BIM), we can now aim to become market leaders in the bakery sector
-
ATP reaches the 1,000 employee mark! – There are now one thousand creative minds in our 10 integrated design offices and specialist design and consulting companies.
-
Hamburg is one of Germany’s most important economic centers and is well known for its progressive city center developments. The high number of successful companies in the city provides fertile ground for sustainable construction projects that are integrally designed with BIM.
