Industrial Building Prize 2024

Nomination: CERATIZIT Austria amongst the TOP 10

Stuttgart, 25.09.2024

Another honor: The forward-looking corporate headquarters of CERATIZIT Austria in Breitenwang in Tyrol, which was integrally designed by ATP architects engineers, was nominated for the Industrial Building Prize 2024.

Nomination for a “holistically harmonious and sustainable overall concept”
The new corporate headquarters of CERATIZIT Austria, which was integrally designed by ATP architects engineers, was one of 10 nominated projects selected from the 73 submissions for this year’s Industrial Building Prize in the “Building” category. The jury emphasized the structure’s ecological characteristics and praised the architecture, which slips harmoniously into the surrounding Tyrolean mountain landscape:

The project successfully inserts a complete factory with production, storage, logistics, and social areas and offices into a sensitive Alpine landscape with surprising effortlessness. The plot is used extremely economically: functions are stacked, the lively topography is exploited to enable access to the building at two levels, and the volume is perfectly adapted to the site geometry. This stacking, the change in angle in the long external wall, the relaxed layout of the high, narrow windows, and the use of fair-faced timber formwork on the facade lend the building an agreeable sense of scale. The interiors also enjoy a very friendly atmosphere. All structural and facade elements are produced from local spruce. The project makes use of the exhaust air from the production processes and the cooling groundwater, both of which are important elements in a holistically harmonious and sustainable overall concept.

The highly sustainable building, with its high-tech production, administration, and logistics facilities has already received this year’s German Design Award in the “Excellent Architecture” category.

The Industrial Building Prize 2024 was presented in the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart. Claus Wannenmacher, Group Leader, Structural Engineering, and Andreas Becker, Head Architect of ATP architects engineers, Karlsruhe, accepted the nomination certificate in the name of ATP architects engineers.
