A sustainable beauty

RINGANA Campus

A flagship project in terms of energy efficiency and sustainability as well as an architectural “eyecatcher”: The integrally designed new headquarters elegantly communicate the corporate values of RINGANA to the outside world, while offering deep insights into the manufacture of high-end products.

Creating identity and offering an experience
As part of its successful expansion strategy, the Austrian producer of natural cosmetics RINGANA commissioned ATP to design its prestigious new headquarters in St. Johann bei Hartberg. The client required that the building complex, which consists of production, administrative, and logistics facilities, should be both highly flexible and enable visitors to “experience” its products and production process. To this end, we designed the production and logistics buildings so that they could be expanded upwards in future. In addition to this we designed a “suspended” gallery for interested visitors that offers insights into RINGANA’s world of fresh cosmetics and leads them through the entire campus.

Freshness and transparency as guiding principles in the language of architecture
The process of integrated design with BIM enabled us to reconcile the building concept, the technical layout, the user requirements, and RINGANA’s corporate values. The brand message of “freshness” and “transparency” is communicated to the outside world by the architectural language of the building: The company name is dynamically integrated into the white frame and slat structure of the facade of the administration building, while the production hall, with its four-meter-high glass facade, is designed like a showpiece factory. This represents RINGANA’s transparent information policy vis-à-vis the manufacture and the ingredients of its high-quality products. It is also the “heart” of the new campus: the high-tech “fresh” production facility which has a capacity of up to 30,000 kg per day.

The RINGANA CAMPUS is another example of all the advantages of integrated design: Despite its size and the great diversity of functions and requirements, the design process was completed in a very short time to the client’s total satisfaction.

A flagship project thanks to integrated design with BIM
RINGANA focuses on sustainability and environmental friendliness in the manufacture of all products. This is a basic approach that we at ATP share and have incorporated into our integrated design process. The new HQ is ecologically and economically sustainable and has an innovative and climate-friendly energy concept. More than 160 deep-bored piles activate the earth in order to cool and heat the campus and transform it into one of Austria’s largest geothermal projects. PV plants on all roofs cover half the energy needs, while 9,500 m² of green roofs reduce cooling demand. In addition to this, the bright and open spaces offer employees an agreeable working environment. Spacious external areas with orchards and a swimming pond create a particularly high quality of visitor experience across the campus.

The shared corporate values of RINGANA and ATP architects engineers – the protection of resources and the reduction of waste – ensured an excellent basis of trust and harmonious cooperation from the very start.
