Modular Building for a Hospital
Opening of the Radiology Department for the Kliniken der Stadt Köln-Merheim
High-quality treatment, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness were the requirements for the planning of a new building on the hospital campus in Cologne. The new radiology department – designed as a modular building – was realized according to a very tight timetable.
In order to be able to guarantee the best possible radiological support for their patients, the Kliniken der Stadt Köln decided to construct a new clinic for diagnostic and interventional radiology and neuroradiology at Merheim Hospital, which has now been ceremoniously opened by the Mayor of Cologne, Henriette Reker. We were commissioned to deliver the integrated design of a building for top-level patient care – in the spirit of the slogan “The best medicine for everyone.”
In our health-sector projects, modular building enables us to create efficient spaces for the high-quality patient care of tomorrow!

The new “Central Radiology Department” for diagnostic and interventional radiology is optimally tailored to meet the needs of patients and medical processes. The building slips harmoniously into the existing built fabric of the hospital campus. As an important component in the modernization of the clinic infrastructure in Merheim, the newly opened department is also a flagship project for future-fit health sector buildings.
