Award for ATP subsidiary Plandata
BIM system recognised as an innovative solution
Plandata, an ATP subsidiary, has been awarded the 3rd prize by the “Verband der Ziviltechniker- und Ingenieurbetriebe (VZI)” for its innovative BIM solution under the motto “Simplifying Digitalisation!”.
As part of the “Digital Opportunities” campaign by the VIZ (Association of Civil Engineering and Engineering Companies) in collaboration with the Vienna Business Agency, solutions were honoured that provide added value for clients, society, and climate protection. In an interview with SOLID, Plandata CEO Lars Oberwinter elaborates on the award-winning product:
The recognised BIM system integrates product information quickly and efficiently into BIM models. It was specifically developed for small and medium-sized enterprises, enabling them to adopt advanced standards cost-effectively.
Background and Solution
Each company has its own BIM setup, which supports use cases such as calculations, simulations, and evaluations for cost planning and AVA. Plandata’s solution focuses on integrating product information in purely alphanumeric form into the company's “generic” objects without the need to replace them with “product-specific” objects.
Our solution significantly enhances process efficiency in digital project execution, minimising waste and sources of error.

CEO of Plandata
According to Oberwinter, the system can also be utilised by (large) building owners and operators with extensive property portfolios and frequent construction activities. It allows them to mandate its use for their planning and construction contractors without the need to invent their own standards or develop and maintain complex setups.
Regarding sustainability and circular economy data, the system also facilitates early identification of key metrics and proofs of performance:
While this does not guarantee sustainable planning, construction, or operation, it significantly lowers the technical threshold for truly ecological building optimisation.
