FASSADE | FAÇADE reports on the new Plodine Tower in Rijeka
The latest issue of FASSADE | FAÇADE dedicates a seven-page feature to the modernisation and nearly zero-energy optimisation of the Plodine Tower in Rijeka.
The article explores the transformation of the Plodine Tower in Rijeka—from an unused shell construction into a striking vertical icon. At the heart of the redesign is the highly reflective glass facade, which captures the sky and sea, lending the tower a distinctive, crystal-like lightness. At the same time, the building meets the high energy standards of a Nearly Zero-Energy Building.
"We envisioned a crystal on a rock, reflecting the movements of the sea and clouds in the sky," says Dario Travaš, Architect, Partner, Head of Design in Vienna and Managing Director in Zagreb and Belgrade, describing the design.
