Paid course of study with a fixed job at ATP architects engineers
New in Austria: As a corporate partner of MCI we’ve been providing training places to two applicants to the dual bachelor course “Smart Building Technologies” every year since September 2021. By doing this, we’re helping them to join the ranks of tomorrow’s most sought-after engineers.
-
Study, or enjoy financial independence? When you opt for a dual study course you don’t have to choose. You work for ATP for half the year and study for the rest. And we pay you for both.
-
You have a secure job with ATP – long before you qualify. And we don’t only provide you with a job and pay you a fair wage during your course. The fascinating career world at ATP remains wide open to you after you’ve qualified.
-
Theory or practice? You can have both! At ATP you work on national and international projects while you’re still studying. So when you qualify you already have three years professional experience.
-
At ATP you design in interdisciplinary teams. Digitally and virtually. We’re pioneers in the field of integrated design with Building Information Modeling (BIM). And this means that you’ll always be a step ahead on the jobs market.
The combination of theory and practice is simply perfect: We can immediately employ our new knowhow in real projects – and this is a huge motivation.

Your job as a building services engineer
With pride in your success. With responsibility for the future.
-
Imagine that you’re in the world’s best building. And now imagine that things like heating and ventilation, the water supply, escalators, and lifts aren’t there. Now, you’re suddenly in a dark, cold, and useless shell. For as long as we can remember it is building services engineers that have breathed life into buildings.
-
Against the background of climate change, the involvement of building services engineers in the early phases of designing buildings is now more decisive than ever. Because buildings consume a lot of material and energy. They’re responsible for a large share of the CO₂ emissions that damage the climate. This is why building services engineers are not focused on merely designing a functioning building but, rather, one that has a minimal impact on the environment. It is during the design process that you can maximize your impact on the development of an intelligent, sustainable building. Our interdisciplinary teams offer the perfect setting for contributing to the basic concept and creating excellent buildings in a symbiosis of architecture and structural and building services engineering.
-
The new possibilities offered by digitalization are increasing both our expectation of comfort and our understanding for the environment and for the need to save energy and cut CO2 emissions. In future, the demand for engineers who have learnt to look beyond the horizon and work on holistic solutions in integrated teams can only increase.

FAQ
Why ATP is the ideal study partner
-
The special thing about us is not our size. It is the way in which we design that differentiates us from the others. Whereas, in a normal office, an architect designs a building before a structural engineer then adds columns and a building services engineer adds ducts, we at ATP transform this “one after the other” into a “together.” In each of our projects, experts from all disciplines work together. From day one. This is what we mean by integrated design.
-
You work in a small, friendly team, mostly in the office but sometimes on site. You work together in our integrated workshops with architects and structural engineers. You ensure that a building does what it is designed to do. Your responsibilities include dimensioning the most important plant and machinery, positioning pipework and distribution equipment for water and energy, and calculating the cross-sections of ventilation ducts. You also meet the manufacturers of innovative and energy-efficient systems and participate in research projects. And you’re accompanied by experienced building services engineers, during your course and beyond.
-
Then we’ll show you how in our in-house academy. We create a digital twin of every building that we design. This is a computer model that we fill with information until it grows into a completed building. With the help of virtual reality glasses we can “stroll” through the digital model, long before the building has been completed. This allows us to see whether pipes clash with walls, where larger ducts are needed, and how much room the plant actually occupies. We are pioneers in the use of this modern design method with BIM. And you also obtain this knowhow at ATP. Pretty cool, isn’t it?
-
Good grades aren’t decisive for us. We at ATP value your sharp mind. We’re looking for visionaries, deep thinkers, and team players. We want your enthusiasm for your work to come from within. Convince us in your interview that you’re ready to learn and that you want to play in “the team of the best.” For tomorrow’s better built environment.
-
We invest in your future and help you to combine theory and practice. But we also want you to enjoy your work and to grow while you do it. In order to ensure that you feel good at ATP, we offer you ...
a fair wage
flexible working hours
cool offices in the heart of Innsbruck
numerous sporting and leisure activities
team events
... and much more!
After your course, all the doors of the exciting world of ATP are open to you, including those of all our other integrated design offices across Europe!
