Integrated Dual Leadership in Hamburg
Andrea Seegers is Managing Director/Architecture
Since June 2024, the internationally experienced architect Andrea Seegers has been part of the leadership team at ATP Hamburg. As Managing Director/Architecture, she co-leads ATP architects engineers’ office in the Hanseatic city alongside Lars Schwertner, Managing Director/Engineering.
The new integrated dual leadership aims to expand the office, which currently employs around 60 architects and engineers, and firmly establish ATP in Northern Germany. “There are still very few design offices in Northern Germany that work integrally with BIM, like ATP does. However, the demand is significant,” says Seegers.
Seegers has more than 24 years of experience as an architect in leadership roles. Educated in Hanover and Chicago, her career path led her from the US back to Europe, where she worked for renowned firms such as gmp, KSP Engel, WilkinsonEyre Architects, and Hadi Teherani Architects. Her expertise in project management has given her a deep understanding of collaborating with clients.
The interdisciplinary approach of integrated design, along with the strong emphasis on teamwork as a key value at ATP, were the main reasons for Seegers to join the office.
I believe in a sustainable, responsible approach through integrated design. What particularly convinced me was the holistic perspective on design tasks and the corresponding organizational structure, complemented by specialist design and consulting companies.

Biography
Andrea Seegers studied architecture at the University of Applied Sciences in Hanover and at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Her career has taken her to international offices such as Murphy/Jahn Inc. in Chicago, gmp Architekten in Hamburg, KSP Engel und Zimmermann Architekten in Munich, WilkinsonEyre Architects in London, and BRT and Hadi Teherani Architects in Hamburg. Before joining ATP architects engineers, Hamburg, she was Director of Business Development at WSP Deutschland AG and WSP E&IS GmbH, where she oversaw Project Management, Construction Management, Building Services and Sustainability.
