Lars Schwertner is the Managing Director/Engineering
The top management of the young and constantly growing office has been enhanced by the appointment of Lars Schwertner as the new Managing Director/Engineering. The experienced engineer will work alongside Albert Achammer, Managing Director/Architecture, to take full advantage of all the opportunities offered by the Metropolitan Region of Hamburg.
Since its establishment in 2020, the team of ATP Hamburg has grown to more than 60 planning experts. Now, Lars Schwertner has joined the top management team. The structural engineer will share responsibility for shaping and developing the young office alongside the architect and Managing Director/Architecture Albert Achammer. “I’m convinced by ATP’s innovative integrated way of working and value the large network of interacting experts. Thanks to our agile team in Hamburg, we’re in a position to fully exploit the potential for growth in the metropolitan region and across the North of Germany,” says the new Managing Director.
Lars Schwertner is ideally equipped for his new role as Managing Director: He can turn to a wealth of knowhow that is based on over 17 years of design experience. Integrated design at ATP offers him the ideal opportunity to apply his profound understanding of interrelationships. And, at the same time, his qualification as a DGNB Consultant enables him to identify with ATP’s focus of sustainable design.
The appointment of Lars Schwertner to the leadership team means that ATP Hamburg is now a fully integrated office. I’m delighted about this structure. As we work together, we’ll be able to productively complement each other, deepen our understanding of each other’s point of view, and generate extensive knowhow that will help us to make the world an even better place with our buildings.

Born in Cologne, Lars Schwertner studied construction engineering at Cologne University of Applied Sciences before working for a structural engineering inspection company. He then extended his structural engineering knowhow as a project manager with ahw Ingenieure in Hamburg. Before his move to ATP architects engineers, he headed the Hamburg office of Kempen Krause Ingenieure, successfully establishing the business as he worked on numerous projects in the laboratory, production, refurbishment, residential, hospitality, and education fields. He is also a qualified DGNB Consultant and BIM Professional and certified concrete element maintenance planner (SKP) and building damage expert.
I chose ATP because I’m completely convinced by the integrated way of working and the impressive corporate structure, with its numerous design offices and consulting companies. As Managing Director, I particularly value the clear focus on sustainable design and on the construction sector’s responsibility to the environment, as underlined by the ATP Green Deal.
