The European Green Deal envisages the transformation of Europe into the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. Our contribution to the essential revolution in the building industry is the “ATP Green Deal.” This structure enables us to transform our approach into concrete tools as a means of establishing resource- and climate-friendly designing and building as a standard feature of all our projects.

We are supported in this work by our own Design & Research Studios and by the research and specialist design companies ATP sustain (sustainable building and building physics) and ATP Zero (sustainable building services solutions). Every project team includes a Sustainability Manager. Comprehensive courses in this field are standard right across the company as part of our internal training program, the ATP Academy.

In line with our vision of changing the world for the better with our buildings, we are committed to quality management and environmental management with the objective of optimizing internal processes and continuously improving the quality of our services. All of ATP’s integrated design processes are ISO-certified and coordinated by external quality and environmental audits in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

• Vienna University of Technology
  ATP architects engineers works closely with universities and universities of applied sciences and plays a leading role in scientific research into integrated design and BIM. Christoph M. Achammer taught at Vienna University of Technology between 2002 and 2022 as Professor for Integrated Construction Planning and Industrial Building.
  

• Support for organizations in the fields of sustainability and innovation
  We support educational institutions whose mission is to share knowledge in the areas covered by the core services of ATP architects engineers. We help students who want to produce their dissertations in cooperation with ATP. They receive expert support in our offices for their bachelor’s, master’s, or diploma dissertations while also being able to discover ATP’s world of integrated design from the inside.
  

• Dual study
  As a corporate partner of MCI we have been providing training places for two students on the dual bachelor course “Smart Building Technologies” since September 2021. By doing this, we are helping them to join the ranks of tomorrow’s most sought-after engineers.

ATP is a founding member of the DGNB and the ÖGNI. In these bodies we are involved in working groups for the development of new certification systems for industrial buildings and the retail sector. ATP is also a co-founder of the Austrian interest group (IG) Lebenszyklus Hochbau and played a leading role on the board in the development of a new set of guidelines that were presented at the end of 2013.

Since 2021, ATP has been a partner of Madaster, the global register of materials, buildings, and infrastructure. As a “Kennedy” member, ATP is working with the platform on the facilitation of a low-waste circular economy in the building and real estate sector. We are using BIM systems to create a link between our generic design and real building materials and elements.

The New Life for Buildings initiative, which was launched by ATP, brings together experts from the real estate sector, project development, design, urban planning, research and consultancy, and representatives of the public to develop future-fit approaches to the revitalization of vacant downtown properties.

The issues of diversity and equal opportunities are extremely important to us as employers. Our annual internal Diversity Report is a key tool that enables us to track developments and react in areas where we need to catch up. One such area is our declared target of 30 % of senior management positions being occupied by women by 2025: We identify barriers to female careers and evaluate opportunities for supporting women through process or organizational change. The Diversity Report also records and analyzes the age distribution and the multiplicity of nationalities within ATP.

Life-work integration, the reconciliation of work and family life, is very important to us at ATP architects engineers. This is why we support the working parents amongst the employees of our offices through bespoke family-friendly solutions or by cooperating with nearby childcare facilities. In Innsbruck, we even offer our own nursery, “ATPünktchen.” This initiative, the first such facility to be opened by a design office in Austria, earned us a nomination for the State Prize for the “Most family-friendly company” – and the award for the Province of Tyrol – in 2012.

We concentrate our social engagement on the geographical region in which we are anchored as employers and service providers. And we focus on such subjects as education, science, art, and the environment, while also supporting social facilities and initiatives. Every year we support selected projects or socio-politically important institutions in the form of a Christmas donation.

2023 – Orphanage in Odporyszów/Polen
ATP donates to the children's centre in Odporyszów, a 24-hour facility run by the DEMOS Foundation and the SIEMACHA association

2022 – “Er flog voraus”
We sponsored a cinema film about the Austrian architect Karl Schwanzer.

2021 – ÜLENKINDER
We supported a care facility in Hamburg for families with severely ill children or children in palliative care.

2020 – SOS Kinderdorf Lekenik
We assumed responsibility for the urgently needed renovation of the roofs of two family houses in the SOS Kinderdorf at Lekenik in Croatia.

2020 – “Help us 2 Help”
We supported the initiative “Help us 2 Help” and its plans to build aid centers in Beirut.

2018, 2019 – “Smiling Gecko”
We donated the conceptual and integrated design for an organic farm run by Schweizer Hilfswerk in Cambodia.

2017 – 1st Architectural Film Days, Zurich
We sponsered Zurich’s first Architectural Film Days.

2016 – Playing without barriers
We supported the construction of a new playground and movement space for the Regens-Wagner-Förderzentrum Holzhausen for disabled young people and adults.

2015 – Timely help
Through a social initiative we supported a seriously ill employee.

2014 – “Bilding” art and architecture school in Innsbruck
We supported the construction of a new art school in which children and young people can research into painting, sculpture, architecture, and media art.

2013 – SOS Kinderdorf Vienna
We sponsered the construction of a new SOS Kinderdorf apartment for up to eight children.

2012 – Clementine Children’s Hospital Frankfurt/Main
We supported the conversion of the roof level into a physiotherapy space for neuropediatric early rehabilitation.

2011 – Concordia Day Center in Sofia, Bulgaria
We supported the construction of a day center in Bulgaria for caring for and supporting “street children” of pre-school age.

2010 – Construction of a school building in Africa
We supported the Tyrolean not-for-profit organization “Kindern eine Chance” in Uganda.

2009 – Tiroler Hospiz-Gemeinschaft
We supported the mobile hospice and palliative team in Tyrol.

2008 – SOS Kinderdorf
We supported the construction of the first SOS Kinderdorf in Ukraine – which was opened in July 2010.
