Elevating Corporate Architecture

Maximarkt

Familiar and innovative: Our prizewinning design for the environmentally-friendly Maximarkt in Anif rigorously pursues the corporate architecture developed by ATP. The result is a forward-looking building with striking recognition value.

Corporate identity for today and tomorrow
In 2002, we were commissioned to develop a new corporate architecture concept for the retail company Maximarkt. The objective was to create a design identity that is suitable for both existing and future stores. The conceptual guidelines that we developed together with the company management were first applied in 2003 and ensure the unified brand presence of the chain across a number of locations.

In designing the new Maximarkt in Anif we were asked to take full account of the CA concept, while also developing it to the next level. Our design won first prize in the invited realization competition. Our idea was to continue the bracket of the entrance portal, which had become the store’s brand logo, in the interior of the building. The side facades of the building picked up on this dynamism by appearing to be playful repetitions of the leg of the portal. In this way, the corporate identity of the company became instantly recognizable from a range of different perspectives.

The interplay of design and sustainability
The dynamic design of the new building is enhanced by a forward-looking ecological concept. The volume is notable for its high proportion of timber and recyclable insulation. Groundwater is used to cool the building, while it is heated with the help of exhaust heat, which significantly reduces the consumption of fossil fuels. A state-of-the-art control and monitoring system optimizes the energy consumption of the entire building and underlines the sustainable orientation of the project.
