Refurbishment during ongoing operations
Shopping City Süd, Vösendorf/Wien
The goal of the revitalization was to implement necessary maintenance measures, safety and aesthetic renovations, as well as targeted functional improvements in such a way that the shopping center is technically improved and visually enhanced.
The original building of Shopping City Süd (SCS) dates back to 1975 and was expanded in 1987 with an additional building, a parking deck, and an office center.
The façade was thermally adapted, and the entrances to the shopping center were redesigned, along with the gastronomy and retail areas within the mall. The result is a clear sequence of attractive pathways and plazas, complemented by a new wayfinding system. The installation of new skylight bands in the original building allows more natural daylight to enter the mall. The renovation, carried out during ongoing operations, was planned to ensure short construction times and the safest possible realization of individual construction phases.
